This blog explores the life of Plo Koon, covering his beginnings and role during Order 66 as a loyal member of the Galactic Republic.

Origins and Early Life

Plo Koon was born on the Dorin planet, situated between the Hapes Cluster and the Maelstrom Nebula. Dorin had a harsh helium-based environment. It required its inhabitants to wear goggles and breath masks when they left the planet. This was to match the air of their home planet.

The Kel Dor had a strong sense of justice and were a deeply spiritual and reflective species. Therefore, Plo Koon was Force-sensitive from a young age. He was taken to the Jedi Temple for training. Under the guidance of skilled Jedi Masters, Plo Koon learned the Jedi principles in less time. His focus on ethics and justice set him apart from his fellows and earned him respect within the Order.

Role in the Jedi High Council

Plo Koon passed the trials and attained the rank of Jedi Knight. His discipline and strategic thinking made him a Jedi Master. He undertook many missions across the galaxy to resolve conflicts. Plo Koon’s ability to balance power and empathy made him a reliable character in the darkest times of the era.

Plo Koon’s outstanding leadership resulted in his selection for the Jedi High Council. As a senior figure in the Council, he worked closely with other respected Jedi, including Yoda, Mace Windu, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Saesee Tiin

Lightsaber and Combat Style

Plo Koon’s first lightsaber was blue, representing his position as a Jedi Master. It was crafted for functionality instead of decoration. In addition, he wielded orange and yellow-colored lightsabers in some legend materials.

Plo Koon mastered Form V: Shien/Djem So. This lightsaber technique focuses on power, counterattacks, and deflecting blaster shots. This made him very skilled in fighting both droid forces and lightsaber-wielding enemies.

Plo Koon’s Philosophy and Unique Force Abilities

Plo Koon was recognized for his faith in unconventional approaches to settling disputes. He knew the galaxy's complexities, so he was open to unorthodox methods to achieve justice. He believed that justice and fairness should guide a Jedi's actions.

Plo Koon was among the few Jedi able to wield Electric Judgment, an uncommon Force skill. In contrast to the dark side’s Force Lightning, Electric Judgment was a controlled, non-lethal method employed to immobilize foes. This skill showcased Plo Koon’s capacity to balance strength with moderation.

Plo Koon possessed a strong sense of empathy, utilizing the Force to perceive the feelings of those around him. This skill improved his leadership, enabling him to relate to make insightful choices.
