Zero Friends Again

After leaving the fifth episode at such a cliffhanger, the new episode of the Skeleton Crew is finally here to blow up our minds yet again. The sixth episode of the series begins with Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel falling out of a pipeline; as in the previous episode, Wim has pushed a stool, which helped the kids escape from Captain Rennod’s lair. All the kids land on the mountains of Lanupa and are fine, but KB cannot move. Fern quickly comes to her friend’s aid telling Wim and Neel that cybernetics have malfunctioned. She asks them to help her turn KB on her side. Wim asks if KB will be fine, to which Fern replies that she will be.

On the other hand, on top of Skull Ridge Mountain, Jod comes out of Captain Rennod’s lair and has a lot of gold on him, which he got from the lair. Upon coming out, he is captured by Brutus’ men, who take him to the pirate ship Brutus is on. Brutus sentences Jod to death on the ship for his crimes, but a pirate in the crew points out that as per pirate traditions, Jod has a right to last appeal, which Brutus honors. During his appeal time, Jod can convince the pirate crew that he can give them the power to make unlimited old republic credits which will make all of their wishes come true. Hearing this, everyone gets happy, but Brutus warns Jod that if he is not able to fulfill what he has said, he will face a fate worse than death.

At Lanupa, Fern tells the others that we should get back to their ship, which was on top of Skull Ridge, to get to At Attin. Hearing this, KB tells Fern that they should go their separate ways, and she will go with Wim to find another way to get back home. Fern, heartbroken and angry, agrees with KB. She and Neel go their separate ways to find a way to get on top of the mountain.

KB

KB and Wim end up in a junkyard following the crabs that they had found earlier. Suddenly, KB gets on his knees and is unable to move. Seeing this, Wim quickly comes to her rescue and asks her what happened to her. KB tells him this happens to her at times because she has not had her maintenance. Wim asks KB how he can help her, and KB, though in a weak condition, shows him how.

While doing so, KB reflects on her limitations after her accident, admitting to Wim that she struggles to keep up with Fern because she fears that Fern is going to leave if she reveals her true feelings. Wim reassures KB by saying that if Fern leaves her, she can be friends with him and Neel. As Wim repairs KB during a tense moment where she nearly dies, KB suddenly comes back to life and thanks Wim and calls him a "Jedi" for saving her. Meanwhile, Fern and Neel are leaping onto a junkyard ship as it attempts to fly away with the Onyx Cinder. Fern pilots the ship to rescue KB and Wim, who got stuck in a corner by a massive trash crab. Together, they jump onto the ship, narrowly escaping the monstrous creature. Just then, another disaster struck, and the junkyard ships started crashing and spinning out of control.

The kids regroup after their fall but only to face another chaotic situation: a colossal junkyard ship destroying everything in its path that was heading straight towards the Cinder. They scramble to save their ship, working as a team—KB jumpstarts the engine, Wim holds back the junkyard beast, Neel hits the throttle, and Fern steers. When the junkyard ship latches onto the Cinder, Fern makes a very bold decision and activates the Emergency Hull Demolition Sequencer, the one that SM-33 had warned never to use in episode 2. Suddenly, explosions ripple through the ship, and it sheds its outer layer like a snake, leaving behind a smaller vessel. The kids are successful in escaping the clutches of the junkyard beast and fly off to safety despite a slightly fiery engine.

This is it for now from our side, find out what happens in the seventh episode of Skeleton Crew. Till then, may the Force be with you.
