You Have a Lot to Learn About Pirates
After leaving us at the edge of our seats with the ending of episode four, the new episode of Skeleton Crew was truly a Christmas special. It begins with the kid’s parents trying to find a way to contact them. On At Attin, Wendle is in his office, and he tries to access a barrier code as he wants to try and send a message to the kids. While doing so he is caught by a security droid, who takes him to the supervisor. The supervisor turns out to be Fern’s mother, who helps cover this incident up. He convinces Fara to help him, as the leaders of At Attin are not going to help them at all.
On the other hand, the kids, Jod and SM-33, are back on the ship, and the droid is still shut down. They wake 33 up and he reveals that his original captain was Tak Rennod, and the ship they’re currently on is a famous pirate ship called the Onyx Cinder. The droid also tells everyone that he does not know the coordinates for At Attin, but his old captain has hidden the coordinates in his lair. Fern asks SM-33 to take them there, and he obliges.
SM-33 takes them to Captain Rennod’s secret lair, which is in a place called Skull Ridge Mountain. But as the pirate captain has been gone for quite some time now, the mountain has now turned into a spa.
The crew lands and tries to find a way into Rennod’s lair, but before that, Jod meets someone from his past, who calls Brutus to Skull Ridge to get the bounty which is placed on Jod’s head.
The kids and Jod are able to find the lair and enter it. After entering, Jod asks everyone to spread out and find the data log. Neel finds it. Jod asks SM-33 to access it. The droid is able to find the coordinates for At Attin from the data log. But that’s not all they find; from Captain Rennod’s log, they also find why At Attin is hidden and the treasure it holds: the Old Republic Mints. Hearing the truth about At Attin, Jod shows his true colors as he is a pirate after all. He challenges Fern to a fight knowing full well she will not be able to fight him and he will be the new captain: this is an old pirate tradition. Fern yields as she is not able to fight and is scared, which ultimately makes Jod the new captain. After this, Jod asks SM-33 to take the kids as prisoners, but before the droid is able to do something the kids escape from the lair.
This is it for now from our side, find out what happens in the Sixth episode of Skeleton Crew.
