The Star Wars universe has seen an evident shift in power throughout its existence. It has undergone a series of wars, resulting in unprecedented casualties and outcomes for both the dark and light sides of the Force.
Since their introduction to the galaxy, the Sith and Jedi have fought mercilessly. The Jedi have always prioritized peace, tranquility, and justice, while the Sith Lords prefer power and evil to rule over the universe.
The noble Jedi have a different stance on the Force when compared to the Sith views. The Jedi believe that the Force is a way of gaining knowledge and discipline. It must not be misused and manipulated for personal gain.
On the other hand, the Sith have a very distinctive understanding. They prefer the Dark Side as it provides no limit to Force manipulation and corruption. They see no harm in individuals losing control of their emotions, leading to unimaginable power.
A lightsaber offers an accurate simulation of how different Force individuals think. They are a captivating addition to the SW universe. Their mere existence helps us classify the two Force groups and distinguish their Force views.

One of the prime examples of a character and a lightsaber being influential is Rahm Kota. The rebel Jedi Master was part of numerous warfare instances. His long and hard-fought journey with his lightsaber is one to follow.
Read on to know about one of the best Jedi generals to live in the galaxy.
About Rahm Kota
Rahm Kota wasn’t new to war even in his childhood. He was born on an unknown war-ridden planet and was hardened by the events around him.
After being introduced to the Jedi Order, he quickly rose to multiple ranks and ultimately became a member of the Jedi High Council. After becoming a member of the Council he never shied away from speaking his mind. He was a vocal member of the Jedi Order and spoke freely against the misjudgments of the Jedi High Council.
His accolades and bravery on the battlefield earned him respect and promotion within the ranks of military forces. He was one of the first volunteers for any difficult assignment, gaining recognition for his devotion to the betterment of the Order.
He lived most of his life on the battlefield. After becoming a general of the Republic Army, he created his militia group, Kota’s Militia. It consisted of all non-clone troops, devoted to fighting for the Light Side of the Force. The group fought long and hard until it lost the will after suffering many casualties.

During a famous confrontation, Kota was blinded by his saber and deprived of his Force abilities by one of Darth Vader’s apprentices. The apprentice, Marek, took the lightsaber from Kota, bringing it to Darth Vader as proof of his success against the formidable Jedi General.
However, upon returning to the resistance after being convinced by the same apprentice, Kota regained his powers and vowed to replace his elusive green lightsaber. His strong bond and Force connection with his saber gave him the confidence to join the Rebel Alliance and fight for the existence of the Light Side of the Force.
He added a new green blade by possibly putting a green crystal on the base. The saber assisted him in taking down many enemy soldiers, leading to the long-awaited surrender of Darth Vader.
Rahm Kota’s Lightsaber
Rahm Kota’s lightsaber had a green blade and a solid hilt, powered by a green Kyber crystal. It was tailor-made to suit the general’s defensive and offensive strategies.
The green blade symbolized his Jedi affinity, showing his loyalty and commitment to the Jedi Order. The saber also included an emitter and special fabric wrapped around the hilt. The fabric provided an extra grip for Kota, making it easier to endure heavy duels.
Kota frequently used his lightsaber and maintained it as per his needs. The exterior had a few scratches and dents due to its wielder’s aggressive fighting style. To prolong its life, Kota even kept the saber in a metal sheath around his back to avoid further damage.
The sheath also made it easier for him to retrieve the saber quickly, in case of emergencies. It was certainly a change from having the lightsaber on a belt in the front like other Jedi.
The lightsaber seemed like a true companion to Kota, intimidating his opponents with its dark green glow. One of the examples is Marek, who was uncomfortable with the green crystal and had to replace it with his father’s blue crystal to enforce his ownership.
Kota used his first green lightsaber throughout the events of the Clone Wars until he lost it at the TIE Fighter Construction Facility to Garen Marek. The defeat was a mental blow to the general, who lost his valuable lightsaber.
Marek used the lightsaber for quite a while. Initially, he presented it to his master, Darth Vader, who was not fully sure of his apprentice’s capabilities. However, he entrusted the lightsaber to Marek, who used it in many instances as he had lost his previous lightsaber in battle.
When Marek turned against Vader, he used Kota’s lightsaber to fight the Sith Lord's forces. It helped free numerous rebel prisoners by aiding the efforts of the Death Star. Moreover, before abandoning Vader, he replaced the green crystal with a blue one. It was not a typical choice for a Sith, but his character was not suited to the dark ways of his master.
Kota’s saber had an unprecedented impact on the conflict. Marek ensured to exploit its power, even faring up against Emperor Palpatine to save his Jedi mentor.
Marek also employed the saber against Darth Vader, dispatching the Sith Lord of his helmet. However, after a close-combat fight, Marek lost his life, and Vader destroyed Kota’s lightsaber. Interestingly, Rahm Kota’s lightsaber turned out to be a constant threat to Vader’s progress, leading him to destroy the weapon for good.
