It has been over three years since the initial release of the game that will be succeeded by “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” and the time has nearly come for it to begin its new round of adventures.

Get ready for the adventure!! Since it was first disclosed in 2022, and after it was struck with a postponement that caused its launch to be pushed back, we have now learnt a great deal more about our meeting with Cal Kestis.

This blog contains all of the information that can be found in a holocron on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the upcoming Star Wars sequel developed by Respawn Entertainment. You can find out when it will be released, what modifications and improvements will be made to the gameplay, and what happened in the tale thus far in the trailer.

Expanded Sequel to “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order”

Fans were treated to a fresh and likable protagonist in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in the form of Cal Kestis (along with his buddy, the droid BD-1). It's not hard to understand why “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” became such a big hit; using the Force to fight villainous agents working for the Emperor and slicing adversaries with a lightsaber that you've customized is always a lot of fun.

A fascinating plot that filled in the gap in the Star Wars canon between the original and the prequel trilogy in Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order. Based on what we've played so far, we can't wait for the release of the expanded sequel that develops on Fallen Order.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor- An Adventurous Gameplay

The action-adventure video game Jedi: Survivor will resume the journey of Cal Kestis, who travels the galaxy in an effort to preserve the Jedi way of life. A third-person swashbuckling game set across the galaxy, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is created by Respawn Entertainment in partnership with Lucasfilm Games and extends the saga of Cal Kestis.

In spite of being pursued by Inquisitors and developing a greater mastery of the Force with each passing day, Cal Kestis embarks on a new adventure to rekindle the resistance against the Sith as well as the Empire. Now that he has more lightsabers than General Grievous, our young warrior Cal Kestis must face the most difficult challenge that every Jedi must overcome: deciding how to style his beard.

It is a story-driven, single-player game that takes place 5 years following the conclusion of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that explores Cal Kestis's progressively frantic struggle as the galaxy becomes more corrupt.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor- An Eye-Catching Teaser Trailer

As you are all aware, the unveiling of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor came as a complete surprise at the Star Wars Celebration (2022). The teaser trailer for the game hints at a more sinister storyline, with returning character Cal Kestis being visibly more worn down as a result of the Empire's relentless pursuit over the course of many years.

The very first promotional video for Jedi: Survivor didn't reveal too much about the plot, but it was clear that Cal Kestis and BD-1 would play important roles in the game.

Cal Kestis

The first Star Wars: Jedi Survivor trailer is purely cinematic and pre-rendered; it doesn't feature any actual gameplay. However, in the latest teaser trailer, we witness Cal Kestis along with one of his team members using the Force to toss an opponent into the direction of a hovering TIE Fighter.

Moreover, we do noticed inquisitors pursuing their search for hiding Jedi, and a much older Cal Kestis coming across a mysterious individual drifting in a Bacta Tank. Cal Kestis is engaged in combat with a masked Sith.

It's possible that Darth Vader will make an appearance in this game given that we saw him at the very end of the previous one, Fallen Order. In any case, judging by the teaser, it appears that other Sith are actively searching for Cal Kestis.

Last but not least, the trailer reveals that BD-1 will be accompanying him on his journey, while also dropping hints that the lightsaber that we spent a significant amount of time crafting in Jedi: Fallen Order will be taken by the Inquisitors along with the hint that the Stinger Mantis fleet will be deactivated.

We can look forward to the new adventures that Cal Kestis will take part in, which will include new worlds to explore, new lightsaber techniques to master, as well as new lizard friends to stomp about on.

What is the release date for Star Wars: Jedi Survivor?

The release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was initially scheduled to take place in March, but in January, Electronic Arts revealed that it will be pushed back to April.

Prepare yourselves for an exciting journey! The greatest hero of all time Cal Kestis will keep fighting the Empire for the sake of the Jedi as well as its legacy.

The new release date is set for April 28, 2023. This represents a delay of six weeks in comparison to the original release date of March 17 that was announced by the publisher EA and the Respawn at the start of December.

To set the record straight, the Jedi: Survivor developers explained why the delay was necessary: “In order to hit the Respawn Entertainment quality bar, allow the team the time they require, and accomplish the degree of polish our gamers deserve, we have extended six vital weeks to our release timetable."

Which platforms will be supporting the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

The upcoming Star Wars game, Jedi: Survivor, will be playable on the Xbox series X|S, PC and PlayStation 5 (PS5).

Jedi: Survivor, in contrast to Fallen Order, will not be available on last-gen systems like the PS4 or Xbox One. Moreover, the game can be purchased online through: the Origin shop operated by Electronic Arts (EA), the Epic Games Store, and Steam.

GOOD NEWS!! Those who preorder Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will receive a number of in-game accessories based on the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series. These aesthetics include the former Jedi Master's costume, lightsaber hilt, as well as the combustion blaster he used before switching back to his exquisite lightsaber for a more civilized age.

The Story Plot of the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Video Game

The incidents of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor took place five years just after the conclusion of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This puts the tale of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor roughly contemporary with the timeframe of the 6-episode Kenobi’s series, which debuted on Disney Plus in May 2022.

The video game titled Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order features Cal Kestis, a former Padawan affiliated with the Jedi Order, as its central character. The events of the game transpire five years subsequent to the events depicted in the film Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

The game depicts the narrative of a group of Jedi Knights who have gone underground to avoid capture by Imperial Inquisitors. At the Inquisition, the Second Sister is after Kestis, whereas the Third Sister is after Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Cal Kestis is making an effort to keep his Force talents and his history a secret from the Imperial Inquisitor, which is still on the lookout for any Jedi who survived Emperor Palpatine's Order 66. The journey that Cal Kestis embarks on brings him to a number of new worlds, and it also includes a number of people who have made previous appearances in other parts of the Star Wars canon.

Star Wars Jedi: Survior

In this sequel, Cal Kestis will have to put up "an extremely terrible struggle as the galaxy slides farther into darkness," thus we should anticipate a more severe tone overall. In Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, we'll also see how deep Cal Kestis will drive in his role as the galaxy's only left Jedi Knights to "defend himself, his squad, and the tradition of the Jedi" as the Dark Days approach. The Jedi Knight is seen in the trailers forming an alliance not just with Merrin but also with Bode Akuna, a fresh character that is being added to the game and has a lot of Han Solo overtones to him.

A QUICK RECAP OF PREVIOUS STORY

What we know so far

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, just like its previous version, follows Cal Kestis, a Jedi Knight from the Clone Wars who escaped the Empire and Palpatine's Order 66 that turned Clone Troopers against the Jedi.

Cal manages to stay under the radar for five years as just a scraper on Bracca before an accident nearly takes the life of his companion and compels the young Warrior to use his skills to save him, exposing him to the locals. Cere Junda, along her pilot on the Stinger Mantis, Greez Dritus, come to Cal's aid as he is being pursued by Inquisitors.

For the purpose of reestablishing the Jedi Order, Cere brings Cal to Bogano, wherein her former teacher Eno Cordova concealed a Jedi holocron inside a tomb containing the names of Force-sensitive youngsters. The group, must travel down the path of the Jedi Master to get to the tomb.

After visiting Dathomir, the planet of Darth Maul's birth, and the Wookie home planet of Kashyyyk, Cal recruits a Nightsister named Merrin to serve aboard the Stinger Mantis and aids her in killing Malicos, a renowned Jedi Master who has turned to the evil side.

The stakes raised as the story unfolds!

And for the Inquisitor directing the hunt for Cal, he turns out to be none other than Trilla, the Padawan Cere abandoned when she was probed by the Empire. There is some bitterness on Trilla's part toward her former tutor because of the way she was treated.

Image source: Lucasfilm/ EA / Respawn Entertainment

After completing his mission and retrieving the Jedi holocron, Cal Kestis sees a vision of the future in which the Jedi Order has been destroyed by the Empire and he has fallen to the dark side. Trilla interrupts him before he can make any decisions by swiping the holocron.

After breaking into the headquarters of the Inquisitor, ironically called Fortress Inquisitorius, Cal Kestis challenges Trilla, recovers the holocron, and, with the assistance of Cere, momentarily converts her former Padawan to the light side. However, Darth Vader soon arrives and kills Cere for failing to protect the Emperor.

OMG, guys! The epic battle between Cal Kestis and the Sith Lord was insane! But thankfully, Cal and Cere managed to escape and return to Bogano. However, Cal had to make a tough call and made the choice to destroy the holocron as well as all the valuable information it contained. Let's hope his decision was the right one and that his dark premonition doesn't come true.

Will Darth Vader be back in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

Given Darth Vader's awareness of Cere and Cal's survival, it is reasonable to anticipate that the formidable Sith Lord will mobilize his complete military force in pursuit of the aforementioned crew. The trailer briefly presents a character who is shrouded in shadow and brandishing a red lightsaber. Determining whether this individual is an inquisitor/ a Sith Lord is a challenging task.

The implementation of the Rule of Two may indicate that the individual in question does not possess the characteristics of a Sith Lord. However, further investigation is required to confirm this hypothesis. The enigma surrounding the individual enclosed within the Bacta tank is also a subject of interest. The topic of discussion pertains to the classification of an entity as either a friend or a foe.

Thus far, there has been no indication that the character of Darth Vader will make an appearance in Jedi Survivor. However, it is worth noting that in the previous installment of the game series, Jedi Fallen Order, the presence of this character was not revealed until after the game's launch.

In fact, the only hint of his involvement was a brief teaser featuring his distinctive breathing sound in the initial trailer. Considering the significant impact he had on our team during the previous encounter, it may be advisable for Cal to refrain from engaging with him again.

9 minutes gameplay preview of Jedi: Survivor

A nine-minute clip of early Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gameplay was released by IGN. In this nine-minute gameplay clip, we see Cal Kestis as he makes an emergency landing on Koboh, which is one of the early planets in the sequel.

It appears that one of Cal Kestis's new attitudes will have a distinct muck and malevolence flavor. Cal Kestis has become a lightsaber chameleon, capable of transitioning between single-bladed lightsaber, double-bladed lightsaber as well as dual lightsabers postures on the fly and incorporating force surges and launches to confuse adversarial strikes.

Cal Kestis doesn't seem to be amassing ponchos, although he does uncover a hoodie in a trunk. Everyone knows that a good outfit is essential to Jedi: survival. In addition, Cal Kestis will now be armed with a blaster, which will bring a new dimension to the fights (this is confirmed by the pre-order incentives).

THE SNEAK PEEK OF STAR WARS JEDI: SURVIVAL GAVE US A FRESH START

Following the completion of the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor teaser, you will have a more positive outlook on Cal's subsequent appearance. One may be excused for claiming that this is the point at which the fun starts or for saying that this is the start of the podracing. It looks like the imminent release of the sequel will be a success because of Cal Kestis's enhanced platforming abilities, more fighting options, and wider variety of enemies.

Expected!! Typical Gameplay Elements

The core gameplay elements that made Fallen Order so well received will likely return. While Cal searches for replacement parts for his spacecraft, we get a taste of the platforming adventure in Jedi: Survivor and a good look at Cal Kestis's expanded arsenal.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

In Jedi: Survivor, Cal Kestis will have additional Force skills, such as a more potent Force push, the power to halt blaster fire in midair (similar to how Kylo Ren does it in Star Wars: The Force Awakens), as well as the opportunity to grab an adversary and make them battle on your side.

Widened Cal Kestis's access to aesthetic options

Cal Kestis is expanding his creative horizons in Star Wars Jedi: Survival. While we lament the passing of the period of limitless ponchos, this sequel gives you a ton of ways to get your Jedi outfit just so.

The selection of cosmetic items available to purchase has significantly expanded in Jedi: Survivor and now includes the ability to change BD-1's parts, as well as Cal Kestis's hair and beard styles and a wider variety of clothing options.

This time, Cal won't be limited to a poncho for his attire. The players will have the opportunity to construct their own wardrobes consisting of separate tops and bottoms that can be combined in any way they see fit. You'll also have the option to choose from a surprisingly extensive range of options for your haircut.

If you've been waiting for the day when you'd be able to take on the Empire while sporting a hairstyle and handlebar mustache, that day has finally arrived.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Prime Locations

Cal Kestis will go to both familiar and unfamiliar locales in this video game. Players will once again be able to visit Koboh- one of the most significant destinations, and it was the planet that game lovers explored during their hands-on trailer.

Rambler's Reach is a marketplace where characters that Cal Kestis meets on his travels can set up shop and can provide him side missions and other purchases, like cosmetic products.

One of the worlds that Cal Kestis will travel to during Jedi: Survivor is Coruscant. This planet holds a very outstanding value. In the time leading up to the events of the prequel trilogy, it was both the capital of the Republic as well as the headquarters for the Jedi Order. In addition, Coruscant is among the few planets in Star Wars that has a complete metropolis, and its significance in the saga truly stands second to that of the planet Tatooine, which is a desert world.

STAR WARS JEDI: SURVIVOR EXQUISITE WEAPONS

  1. Lightsabers

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's gameplay will improve upon and extend the capabilities of “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.”

Cal will begin the game having the ability to make both a conventional (single-bladed) and dual-sided lightsaber. This is due to the fact that none of Cal's talents will be lost after the conclusion of the previous game. The single-bladed lightsaber is the most versatile alternative, while the dual-sided lightsaber is better suited for controlling large groups of people quickly with two hands.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

When Cal Kestis used the dual-sided lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, he could split it in half for a special strike, but in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, using two lightsabers at once is its own style. Cal Kestis's armament will eventually grow to include the crossguard and blaster variants.

  1. Blasters

Cal Kestis has the option to employ blasters. By adopting the "blaster posture," Cal Kestis is able to use the lightsaber in addition to his blaster.

Beyond simply tossing his sword or using his Force skills, Cal Kestis now has more options for ranged strikes thanks to the blaster, which widens the scope of the action.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

We have seen countless cases of Jedi being compelled to use such armament in order to thrive during the rule of the Empire, despite the fact that it was pretty uncommon for a Jedi to employ a blaster during the time that the Order was in existence.

  1. Crossguard Lightsaber

Cal Kestis's lightsaber has been modified with a crossguard like Kylo Ren's lethal crossguard lightsaber in the sequel trilogy, which was a common feature on the blade during the time of the High Republic. The crossguard lightsaber is slower but can deal more damage.

  1. Cal Kestis ’s Force abilities

It has been stated by the game's director, Stig Asmussen that the sequel would not reset Cal's talents, and a number of the skills and methods he had gained by the conclusion of the last game will be there at the beginning of Jedi: Survivor. However, when it comes to his Force abilities, Cal Kestis has recently developed some new ones.

At certain times in the game, Cal Kestis will be capable of performing combo attacks alongside his buddies. He can conduct a midair Force rush to achieve certain jumps, and he can freeze blaster shots, just like we saw Kylo Ren execute in The Force Awakens.

Cal Kestis will also have the ability to link with other species through the Force, giving him the opportunity to employ those beasts as mounts while exploring the game's more broad environments.

The character of Cal Kestis was based on whom?

The character of Cal Kestis was designed based on the physical attributes and vocal performance of the actor who portrayed him, namely Cameron Monaghan. Monaghan has amassed an extensive filmography and television portfolio since his inaugural performance in The Wishing Stone in 2002. His portrayal of Ian Gallagher in Shameless and his depiction of brothers Jeremiah Valeska and Jerome in Gotham, which serve as the genesis for The Joker, are among his most recognizable roles. Cameron's range as an actor is seriously impressive, and we can't wait to see what he does next!

In this video game, what will be new?

The collection of Jedi fighting methods that Cal Kestis already possesses will soon be expanded upon. In order to go around in the game's new areas, Cal will have several additional options for puzzle platforming and moving around.

Cal will have access to five different "completely realized" fighting positions throughout the game. Some of these include a double-bladed lightsaber stance and a Kylo Ren-inspired crossguard lightsaber stance that is slower and heavier.

Cal Kestis

Players may look forward to brutal combat that demonstrates all of a Jedi's abilities with a lightsaber and indeed the Force, as well as exploration and collection tasks, and contextual mystery-solving to continue the plot, along with a large number of customization possibilities.

Cal Kestis will be able to befriend extraterrestrial creatures that he may use as mounts by taming the local wildlife. This gives him the capacity to mount lizards as well as hang glides from intergalactic pterodactyls.

Last but not least, players will be able to use flying mounts and flyable rides to quickly get through the various worlds in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. With the use of a climbing line that resembles a grappling hook, players will be able to scale mountains and jump across gaps.

As Cal's mission is leading him to this world, there have to be certain weighty considerations at play here. Nevertheless, most of the locations that Cal Kestis will go to during the game are not yet known prior to its release.

Is Star Wars: Jedi Survivor available for early access?

Certain of Electronic Arts' upcoming video games, although not all of them, are playable for ten hours before their official release via the EA Play subscription service, which is available for PlayStation, Xbox series X|S, and personal computers. The Electronic Arts Play demo version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was not made available prior to the game's release in 2019.

To this day, Electronic Arts has not commented on whether or not Jedi: Survivor will receive this option. In other words, you shouldn't rely on it.

Does Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have any Special Version Releases?

There are two versions of the game that can be purchased from EA: the first is the normal edition, which costs $69.99, and the second is the deluxe edition, which costs $89.99.

WHAT A RELIEF!! In-game "Jedi Survivor" accessories for Cal Kestis are included for those who pre-order the standard edition. The "Jedi Survivor" accessories are a clothing, blaster, and lightsaber skin set for the "Hermit" class, modeled after Kenobi's Tatooine attire.

Exciting news!! In-game Jedi Survivor, "New Hero" as well as "Galactic Hero" packs are included for those who pre-order the deluxe edition. Both "Galactic Hero" and "New Hero" are based on the appearances of Han Solo and Luke Skywalker in the royal room awards ceremony at the conclusion of Star Wars. Players also receive weapons such as Han Solo's blaster and Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, while BD-1, the player's companion droid, receives both Endor camouflage as well as R2-D2 skins.

An astonishing revelation awaits the enthusiasts of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor!!

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to enhance the demanding action-role-playing game mechanics of its forerunner. The upcoming game, Jedi: Survivor is set to enhance the existing combat mechanics of the franchise through novel and inventive means. Cal's survival is contingent upon his acquisition of new skills and his deepening tandem with the Force.

Consequently, the forthcoming developments will encompass the incorporation of novel Force capabilities and innovative lightsaber combat techniques, alongside the potentiality to operate a blaster. The developers at Respawn have made a commitment to include a wider variety of adversaries in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Additionally, players will be required to employ strategic thinking and their acquired skills to surmount challenges and unravel enigmas present in both novel and recognizable locations within the Star Wars universe.

Anticipate the emergence of novel proficiencies, tools, and aptitudes that will enhance Cal's repertoire of combat techniques and movement alternatives. The studio has provided a hint that the upcoming environments will offer expanded exploration areas and increased potential for discovering concealed incentives.
