Soon after being kidnapped, Jaina Solo and her companions, Jacen, Lowbacca, and Tenel Ka came back to Coruscant for some much-needed break from the intensive curriculum at the Jedi Praxeum. There, they reconnected with a friend, Zekk, who took them on a wild escapade through the Coruscant Underworld. Meeting the street gang, the Lost Ones, and their leader, Norys, proved to be that danger was still very close.

Zekk later went with the Solo twins to a diplomatic banquet but ran away in shame when his embarrassing moment was witnessed. When Jacen and Tenel Ka went searching for Zekk, they found out that Zekk had allied himself with the Shadow Academy, a mysterious training ground for Dark Jedi. Not long after this discovery, the group unearthed information that the Second Imperium operations were taking place in Coruscant. The group had no choice but to retreat.

With the prospect of battle against the Dark Jedi, Luke Skywalker felt that it was time for Jaina, Jacen, Lowbacca, and Tenel Ka to forge their own lightsabers. Using her skills in engineering, Jaina Solo built a synthetic crystal for her lightsaber and ended up putting together a bright purple blade. It marked the beginning of her growth into a more skilled and prepared Jedi Knight to meet the increasing dangers ahead.

During the Dark Nest Crisis and Swarm War, Jaina connected to the Killik hive mind along with Zekk, which allowed both of them to share their thoughts and strategies. This connection proved her advantage in teamwork, although her chief skill still remained starfighter combat. Even after she disconnected from the hive mind, she remained close to Zekk, which helped her in many battles.

Jaina also trained with Mandalorian commandos, improving her combat skills even further. She continued to show her bravery, defeating tough enemies and honing her abilities. The Second Galactic Civil War ended with the Battle of Uroro Station. During the battle, Jaina Solo faced her brother, Darth Caedus, in a fierce duel. It was a tragic moment, as Jaina had to fight her own twin to stop him from destroying the galaxy. 

The battle started when Jaina Solo managed to stab Caedus under the ribs with her purple lightsaber. Despite the injury, Caedus used the Force to slam Jaina into a wall and continued fighting her, showing his resistance to pain. He then tried to leave, but Jaina blocked him and charged at him again. Caedus threw her toward an incinerator, but Jaina managed to escape the flames and kept fighting.

Both of them were severely injured in the fight. Jaina Solo was hurt badly, but she still fought on, slicing Caedus's Achilles tendon.
