In Star Wars Legends, Princess Leia's journey as a Jedi started when her brother, Luke Skywalker, constructed a green-bladed lightsaber for her during the Thrawn campaign, which took place around 9 ABY. Despite Leia's limited training because of her New Republic responsibilities, this lightsaber played a crucial role in The Last Command when Mara Jade used it to vanquish Joruus C'baoth and the clone Luuke Skywalker. Later, on Nam Chorios, Leia herself engaged in one of her more notable battles in Legends by facing down the fallen Jedi Hutt, Beldorion, using Luke's original blue lightsaber.
Leia's Jedi journey is further developed in the Star Wars Canon in The Rise of Skywalker, where a flashback reveals that she trained under Luke and made her own blue-bladed lightsaber. Even though she was a very skilled Jedi, Leia eventually abandoned her training when she realized that her son Ben Solo was in danger. Her blue lightsaber was eventually passed down to Rey, who used it in the final battle against Emperor Palpatine, this saber became an enduring part of Leia's legacy.
Leia's lightsabers, which are blue in Canon and green in Legends, represent her strength, insight, and strong connection with the Force. Even though politics and leadership took up the majority of her life, her Jedi journey and the power of her lightsabers continued to motivate the galaxy's future generations.

Construction Of Leia Solo’s Lightsaber
Leia Organa's lightsaber had a blue-plasma blade and a kyber crystal in the hilt's core was used to power the weapon. Organa's weapon was seen as a work of art, with graceful symmetry and silver and gold tones evoking her Alderaan heritage. The weapon had mother-of-pearl inlays as well as was copper and silver in tone.
Leia's saber
The lightsaber's ringed emitter and narrow-neck resembled his brother’s Luke Skywalker green blade. The crystal heart that fueled the blade was ringed by curved-shaped metal grips surrounding the middle of the saber.
History
Organa began training alongside Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, who was her twin brother, on Ajan Kloss in 4 ABY, in the wake of the Battle of Endor. At the time as her twin brother Luke Skywalker’s first Padawan, she used her lightsaber for combating sessions and honed her skills with the blade.
Organa offered Luke her lightsaber to persuade him otherwise, requesting that it be passed on to a deserving pupil in the future. Whilst Luke Skywalker hoped that his sister would start her training in the future. Skywalker, on the other hand, kept the lightsaber and never told her sister where he kept it. Luke Skywalker eventually went into banishment on Ahch-To, taking the weapon with him and storing it in his hut. Luke retained Leia's lightsaber in the hopes of passing it on to someone worthy.
Use Of Princess Leia Saber By Rey
It is Luke Skywalker's Force ghost who gives Rey the Leia Organa lightsaber. To face Palpatine during the Battle of Exegol, she takes it with her and this proves to be a prudent decision, as a rescued Ben Solo comes shortly after without his lightsaber. Rey utilizes the Force dyad connection to pass Anakin's saber to Ben while simultaneously lighting Leia's.
When she was left alone for the final stretch of the encounter in opposition to Palpatine, she uses both Anakin's and Leia's blades to reject Sidious' Force lightning, putting an end to him for good.
What Happened To Leia’s Lightsaber?
Rey received Leia Organa's lightsaber after Luke Skywalker's death, since his Force Ghost thought that Organa would wish the Jedi Padawan to keep it. Rey used her master's lightsaber in conjunction with the Skywalker lightsaber to divert Force lightning of Darth Sidious back at him, killing him during the Battle of Exegol.
Rey arrived on the planet Tatooine after the Battle of Exegol, which marked the termination of the First Order–Resistance War. Following burying the two lightsabers of her masters, Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker, at the remains of the Lars homestead—the Skywalker family's previous residence.
